The EFA have announced that Cairo giants Al Ahly will take part in the Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup where they will face Ittihad Jeddah in Egypt.
Al Ahly were initially supposed to play against Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia in the league winners’ super cup, but the reds withdrew due to their hectic schedule.
Egypt Cup winners Zamalek played the game instead and won 2-1, thanks to strikes from Hamdi Nagguez and Kabongo Kasongo.
Despite Zamalek announcing that they will still take on Ittihad Jeddah in the cups winners super cup, the EFA and the Saudi FF have revealed that Al Ahly are the ones who will take part in the game.
The Reds will host 2018 King’s Cup of Champions winners Ittihad Jeddah in Cairo on 27 November, hoping to lift their first-ever Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup.
It’s worth mentioning that Al Ahly have also qualified for the 2018 CAF Champions League final, where they will face Tunisian side Espérance.
