Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that reaching a fair solution to the Palestinian problem maintains security as well as stability and backs efforts of combating terrorism in the region.
During his speech, he delivered at an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) concerned with coordinating international aid provided to the Palestinian Authority.
The get-together comes within the framework of the European initiative targeting tackling the latest developments of the Palestinian problem in light of the keenness of regional and international parties to coordinate efforts to support the Palestinian cause, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
During Shoukry’s speech, he asserted Egypt’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, he said.
He further stressed the importance of exerting utmost efforts to push forward the Middle East peace process.
Also, the Egyptian top diplomat reviewed in his speech the Egyptian endeavors aiming at achieving Palestinian national reconciliation, highlighting the Egyptian stance targeting alleviating the humanitarian sufferings of the Palestinian people, the spokesman said.
The Egyptian foreign minister held talks with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherin, the Palestinian premier as well as the foreign ministers of Jordan and Morocco within the framework of the Egyptian endeavors aiming at pushing forward the Middle East peace process, the he added.
