Foreign minister meets Egyptian counterpart in Cairo

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, on Wednesday discussed the latest political developments in the region and ways of tackling them to serve joint interests and Arab issues.

During the meeting, the two ministers looked into ways to revive pan-Arab cooperation to face challenges and to solve crises the Middle East is battling, and efforts to cement regional peace and security.

The two countries’ top diplomats exchanged views on the situation in Palestine, Syria, Yemen, and Libya, as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations to serve aspirations and hopes of the two countries’ people.

The two ministers’ talks came prior to a meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, chaired by Jordan, and the Arab League deliberations at the ministerial level, held at the headquarters of the Arab League.
