Tajik Air, the national airline of Tajikistan, plans to lease two Airbus aircraft.
Parviz Shodmonzod, General Director of Tajik Air, told reporters today at a press conference that it is planned to take two used Airbus-type aircraft on a wet lease.
According to him, preliminary negotiations have been held, and the issue will be resolved during this year. The timing of the acquisition and the start of flights depend on the decision of the Supervisory Board of Tajik Air.
Earlier it was reported that the specified council was created by the government of the country in 2018 to improve the financial condition of the airline.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency, the Tajik Air company is negotiating with the Turkish Southwind on leasing for these two aircraft.
Recall that in early January 2019, the national airline of Tajikistan Tajik Air stopped operating flights in all directions. Tajik Air operated flights to 13 cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Surgut, Bishkek, Almaty, Samarkand, Khujand and others.
“Wet leasing” (literally wet leasing) implies mandatory maintenance of equipment, which also includes its repair, insurance and a number of other operations for which the lessor is primarily responsible.
In addition to these services, at the request of the lessee, the lessor can also take on the responsibility for training qualified personnel, marketing, supplying raw materials, and so on.
