The winner of the Ballon D’or in French Football will have a date with history on Thursday not only because of the award but also because of the way they will receive it.
“Marca”, a Spanish newspaper, revealed that the Ballon D’or winner will be awarded on Thursday at the Eiffel Tour in Paris, France.
The newspaper also pointed out that the ceremony will be broadcast directly through “L’Equipe”, a French magazine and news website.
The ceremony will be hosted by the former French player David Ginola.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has won the award five times, and is favored to win the award.
He competes alongside Lionel Messi, Barcelona’s star, and Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain’s player.
Ronaldo had won the “Best” award from FIFA last October after he helped Real Madrid win the Spanish League title and the 2017 Champions League.
Last year, the three finalists for the Ballon D’or were Ronaldo, Messi and Antoine Griezmann; Ronaldo won the 2016 Ballon D’or.
