Egyptian people places full confidence in the ability of the Armed Forces and police personnel to support the pillars of construction, stability, and developments across the country, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said on Friday.
Sisi made the remarks in a meeting with Armed Forces’ commanders on the occasion of the Martyr’s Day, which Egypt celebrates annually on 9 March.
Sisi’s meeting with the army commanders discussed issues and topics of importance on the regional, international, and the local levels, according to the Presidency.
The meeting also reviewed the efforts and the tasks that the Armed Forces carry out on all strategic directions.
Sisi extended his gratitude for the spirit of the martyrs, without whom Egypt would not have been able to make the achievements that it seeks, the Presidency added.
The meeting came after Sisi performed the Friday prayers in Al-Moushir Tantawy Mosque in New Cairo along with Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb, Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Osama Askar, and Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik.
Also, a number of commanders of the Armed Forces and police as well as officers and soldiers attended the prayers with Sisi.
