Kuna: Mosque of Ibn Tulun An Islamic Architectural Wonder in Egypt


Mosque of Ibn Tulun in the Egyptian capital Cairo is an example of Islamic architecture that stood the test of time, the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported on Wednesday.

The mosque is the third oldest in the capital and its minaret is considered the oldest.

Ahmad Ibn Tulun constructed the mosque in 263 Hijra (876 AD). The minaret’s was inspired by infrastructure in ancient Iraq.
